2021 PROGRAM COVID-19 UPDATE - 09/03/2021:
THE 2021 PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
It is with a heavy heart that we have once again had to cancel the Project Children Summer Work & Travel Program for the summer of 2021.
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the corresponding restrictions still in place both here in the UK & Ireland and also in the US, it has been decided that it would not be in the interests of everyone involved to continue with the program this summer.
The safety of our volunteers, interns, host families, internship providers and all of those involved in the program is of the utmost importance to us.
We will once again move our focus to next summer. With the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccination programs, we hope that by this time next year the various visa and travel restrictions will have been removed and clear the way for us to operate the program in 2022.
We would like to again thank everyone involved in the program for their hard work and support, and we look forward to getting back to work on the program next year.
2021 PROGRAM COVID-19 UPDATE - 18/01/2021:
THE 2021 PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD. THIS WILL BE KEPT UNDER REVIEW.
The Project Children Summer Work and Travel Program utilises the J1 non-immigrant visa to authorise our participants to travel to and work in the USA for the duration of our program.
On 31st December, 2020, the suspension of non-immigrant visa programs announced last June was extended until 31st March 2021. This includes the J1 visa program. At this point, it remains to be seen if this suspension will be further extended past this date.
There still remains in place various travel restrictions and quarantine rules for international travellers . We will continue to monitor these restrictions.
The roll out of vaccination programs may allow for a reduction in the above restrictions, at which point we can consider the viability of the program running in summer 2021.
Any further updates will be shared on our website and Facebook page.
01/05/2020: COVID-19 UPDATE:
Project Children Intern Program
COVID-19 Pandemic Update:
In light of the global corona virus pandemic and in the interest of everyone's safety, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the Project Children Intern Program for summer 2020.
Please know this decision was not made lightly and given these extenuating circumstances, we feel we must continue to do our part in keeping everyone involved in the program safe.
At this point, we will focus our time and energy on the Project Children Intern Program in 2021.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their time, effort and support of the program over the years and we are incredibly proud of all the work that has been achieved to date.
We look forward to continuing the program in the future and for the brighter days ahead.
Be well and stay healthy.
